Befriending Scheme - Volunteering

Befriending lonely or Housebound people

Could you spare an hour a week or fortnight to visit someone who is lonely or is in danger of isolating themselves?

You can choose a time to suit you and the person you are visiting.

You can play cards or have a game of dominoes with them.

You could take them out. if you wish, or you could just sit and have a chat and listen.

Perhaps you are in need of company and befriending someone would benefit you too.

All our volunteers need to attend relevant training courses and complete a criminal records bureau check.

If you would like to befriend a lonely or housebound person please fill in the Volunteer application form. For further enquires contact Gurjit Sangha on (0116) 2810026 (24 hour answer phone out of hours) or email her at: befriending@vaow.org.uk
