Telephone Befriending Scheme for Carers
The Telephone Befriending Scheme for Carers will provide telephone support to carers isolated at home because of their caring role and for those carers who are not using the services that are available. Trained telephone befriending volunteers will ring at an arranged time to have a chat, offer emotional support and enable carers to access advice and information. This will also provide an oppportunity for cares to talk to and off-load to someone other than family, friends or someone in a professional role.
Volunteers will include ex-carers and also volunteers who can speak in other languages.
This service will be available from 9.00am to 12.00am Monday to Friday.
